A Day Packed with Patriotic Fun
Festival on the 4th is designed to celebrate our nation's independence in true Knoxville style. The free, family-friendly event kicks off early with a variety of activities that everyone from toddlers to seniors can enjoy including water wars, axe-throwing, mini-golf and paddle boats. Local Food vendors will be on both the Performance Lawn and Festival Lawn to help keep you sustained throughout the day. For the artistically inclined, local artisans will showcase their crafts, providing not only a feast for the eyes but also the perfect opportunity to pick up a unique souvenir.
Star-Spangled Entertainment
This year’s festival entertainment features a mix of local bands and nationally recognized musical artists performing on multiple stages. On the Festival Lawn stage, Knox Vegas DJs will spin tunes 5:00-6:00 p.m., and Bary Jolly will perform Jimmy Buffet’s greatest hits from 6:00-7:45 p.m. On the Performance Lawn stage, Mike Snodgrass Band will play 6:00-7:45 p.m. In the Tennessee Amphitheatre, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform its 40th annual Lawson Family Foundation Independence Day Concert at 8:00 p.m. (video of the KSO's performance will be broadcast on large screens at the Performance and Festival lawns), providing the perfect soundtrack for the evening with patriotic anthems and stirring classics as a lead-up to the fireworks extravaganza.
The Main Event: Fireworks Extravaganza
The highlight of the Festival on the 4th is undoubtedly the spectacular fireworks display. Scheduled to commence at 9:45 PM, the sky above World's Fair Park will illuminate with vibrant colors and impressive pyrotechnics, choreographed to a mix of patriotic music and contemporary hits. This breathtaking display is visible from many parts of the city, but the best view is from the spacious lawns of World’s Fair Park.

Convenient Location and Parking
The World’s Fair Park, located in the heart of downtown Knoxville, is not only picturesque but also highly accessible. Free parking is available in World’s Fair Park and Blackstock parking lots, and in publicly-owned garages downtown. Additional ADA parking is available in the Fork Kid lot. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to secure parking and a good spot on the lawn for fireworks viewing.
