Let’s explore what makes the Festival on the 4th a must-attend event for all ages.

A Day Packed with Patriotic Fun

Festival on the 4th is designed to celebrate our nation's independence in true Knoxville style. The free, family-friendly event kicks off early with a variety of activities that everyone from toddlers to seniors can enjoy including water wars, axe-throwing, mini-golf and paddle boats. Local Food vendors will be on both the Performance Lawn and Festival Lawn to help keep you sustained throughout the day. For the artistically inclined, local artisans will showcase their crafts, providing not only a feast for the eyes but also the perfect opportunity to pick up a unique souvenir.

Star-Spangled Entertainment

This year’s festival entertainment features a mix of local bands and nationally recognized musical artists performing on multiple stages. On the Festival Lawn stage, Knox Vegas DJs will spin tunes 5:00-6:00 p.m., and Bary Jolly will perform Jimmy Buffet’s greatest hits from 6:00-7:45 p.m. On the Performance Lawn stage, Mike Snodgrass Band will play 6:00-7:45 p.m. In the Tennessee Amphitheatre, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will perform its 40th annual Lawson Family Foundation Independence Day Concert at 8:00 p.m. (video of the KSO's performance will be broadcast on large screens at the Performance and Festival lawns), providing the perfect soundtrack for the evening with patriotic anthems and stirring classics as a lead-up to the fireworks extravaganza.

The Main Event: Fireworks Extravaganza

The highlight of the Festival on the 4th is undoubtedly the spectacular fireworks display. Scheduled to commence at 9:45 PM, the sky above World's Fair Park will illuminate with vibrant colors and impressive pyrotechnics, choreographed to a mix of patriotic music and contemporary hits. This breathtaking display is visible from many parts of the city, but the best view is from the spacious lawns of World’s Fair Park.

Supported by the Community

Festival on the 4th is made possible through the generosity of local businesses and organizations. Support for the Festival on the 4th comes from Pilot Company, Visit Knoxville, Home Federal Bank, Regal, WBIR-TV, and radio stations Awesome 93.1, Star 102.1, Hot 104.5 and 100.3 The Wolf. This community-backed event highlights the strong spirit of cooperation in Knoxville and ensures that the festival remains a free and family-friendly event.

About The Author

About Shannon Foster-Boline

Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people make — and it deserves thoughtful guidance, not pressure.

I work with Knoxville buyers, sellers, and relocation clients who value strategy, clear communication, and a calm, informed approach. My role isn’t just to open doors or negotiate contracts — it’s to help clients understand their options, anticipate challenges, and move forward with confidence.

With over 1,100 homes sold and more than $270 million in lifetime sales, I bring deep market knowledge and real-world experience to every transaction. I’ve worked with first-time buyers, seasoned homeowners, relocation clients, and luxury sellers — and I tailor my approach to each client’s goals, timeline, and comfort level.

My approach

Clients often describe working with me as steady, thoughtful, and reassuring.

I believe:

  • Strategy matters more than urgency

  • Local market knowledge matters more than national headlines

  • Clear communication reduces stress and leads to better decisions

  • Preparation creates leverage — whether you’re buying or selling

I’m especially experienced in:

  • Relocation and move-up buyers

  • Coordinating buy/sell timelines

  • New construction and modern homes

  • Historic neighborhoods and established communities

  • Navigating complex negotiations calmly and effectively

Experience & leadership

In addition to my work with clients, I’ve been deeply involved in real estate leadership and education throughout East Tennessee. I’ve served in multiple leadership roles within the East Tennessee Realtors and Tennessee Realtors Associations, including President of East Tennessee Realtors.

I hold several advanced designations, including:

  • Certified Residential Specialist (CRS®)

  • Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI®)

  • Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®)

  • Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE®)

  • Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®)

These credentials reflect my commitment to education, ethics, and professional excellence — but my focus always remains on what matters most to my clients.

Outside of real estate

Outside of work, I’m a mom, a partner, a gardener, and someone who deeply values community and connection.

I love travel, historic architecture, and exploring neighborhoods — both locally and abroad. My family and I split time between Knoxville life and visiting loved ones around the world, experiences that shape how I connect with clients navigating big transitions of their own.

If you’re considering a move

Whether you’re buying, selling, or simply thinking ahead, I believe good decisions start with good information.

If you’d like thoughtful guidance, honest insight, and a calm partner in the process, I’d be honored to help.
